Are you an experienced and highly skilled engineer looking to take on a pivotal role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards? Fastrack is seeking a dedicated Skilled Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team at the Newtons Court Depot. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of our innovative transport network, which is at the forefront of technology and customer service in Kent Thameside.

About the Role: As a Skilled Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all vehicles are maintained and repaired to impeccable standards. You’ll play a crucial role in meeting high MOT pass rates, passing quality assurance audits, and keeping our records up-to-date. This role requires a broad range of engineering skills, a proactive approach to diagnosing and solving problems, and the flexibility to adapt to the varied demands of the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:·

Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain and repair vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with MOT and quality assurance requirements.

Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose vehicle issues and determine the most effective solutions for repair and maintenance.

Efficiency and Flexibility: Maximise personal performance by working efficiently and adapting to changing workshop demands.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team, operations, and drivers to ensure reliable daily service and high vehicle care standards.

Proactive Support: Respond to driver road calls promptly and contribute to team performance by maintaining high vehicle standards.

Documentation: Ensure all documentation is completed to legal standards and that parts are used in a cost-effective manner.

Training: Train other employees, including apprentices, in engineering procedures and processes.·

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, including the use of protective equipment, and ensure a safe working environment.

What We’re Looking For:·

Qualifications: Relevant apprenticeship with qualification, NVQ Level 2/3, or City and Guilds Level 2/3 is essential.

Experience: Strong engineering awareness and familiarity with vehicle component parts, with experience using computerized parts systems.

Flexibility: Ability to work shifts, weekends, Bank Holidays, and potentially night shifts as required by the shift planner.

Skills: Proficiency in fault diagnosis, vehicle repair, and maintenance with a “can do” attitude and a proactive approach to tasks.

Licence: A PCV License is desirable; if not currently held, you must be able to obtain it within 12 months of employment.
