Hearing Loops

Recite Me: accessibility and language support is at the top right of the page.

We are committed to providing excellent service to everyone.

Hearing loops (also known as induction loops) are an assistive listening technology providing the accessibility many need to engage and communicate freely.

Devices such as hearing aids amplify all sounds. In noisy environments, this can make it difficult for those living with hearing loss to distinguish the speech, music or conversation they are trying to hear.

Hearing loops improve communication by enabling users to hear sound sources directly by cutting out background noise.

That's why we will be fitting hearing loop technology to our new electric buses, and will continue to do so.

Unfortunately our existing diesel bus fleet has limited on-bus audio visual equipment, and we are currently working to improve the provision of on-board information such as next-stop announcements in line with the Public Service Vehicles (Accessible Information ) Regulations 2023. Our new electric fleet, due to be introduced after April 2025, is fitted with the latest hearing loop technology and will provide both audio and visual next sotp information.
